Thai Yoga Massage
Thai Yoga Massage is sometimes described as "passive yoga". Suzanne will use gentle movements to release and stretch your body. She will discuss your requirements prior to the treatment. Suzanne is a qualified Massage Therapist and Yoga Teacher with experience dealing with injuries and tightness in joints and muscles. Thai Yoga Massage complements an existing yoga practice very well, as a standalone treatment, or combined with Holistic Massage.
Sometimes known as Swedish Massage, Holistic Massage treats the whole body. It is great for treating aches and pains because the whole body is treated; pain can be "referred", which means the tense or tight muscle is located in a different place to where pain is felt. A holistic approach gives long-lasting results, especially when performed regularly. A Full Body massage includes the back, legs, arms, stomach, face, and neck. Your massage can be relaxing, designed to soothe tired or tense muscles, or invigorating, perfect if you're feeling fatigued. Suzanne will discuss your requirements with your prior to your appointment. As a fully qualified Massage Therapist and Yoga Teacher, Suzanne is proficient at working with injuries and muscle tightness. You can opt for a full body massage or concentrate on a certain area of the body, Suzanne offers Back and Legs; Hands, Feet, Face & Neck; and Back, Neck & Shoulders but she is happy to take requests!
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage uses a range of advanced techniques to get deeper into muscles than a traditional massage, without causing pain or discomfort. This massage is great if you prefer a firmer massage and also if you experience tightness, are recovering from an injury, and for injury prevention. Your treatment can include Trigger Point Therapy* if desired. The appointment can treat the whole body or focus on an area of your choice.
*Trigger Point Therapy is a technique which uses gentle pressure on trigger points, which are small areas of a muscles which can be used to release the muscle and/or fascia quickly.
Suzanne is always happy to combine elements from each of these techniques to provide a massage that is completley bespoke and works for you. For example, it is possible to combine a Thai massage with a traditional back massage. It is also possible to combine a massage appointment with a private yoga class to specifically address issues such as injuries, long-term health concerns, or preparing for an event.
